New Delhi: The Home Minister, Amit Shah, in the Rajya Sabha told that the Central government will identify every illegal immigrant and infiltrator and deport them from the country. He announced the government’s decision during the Question Hour.
Amit Shah said, “We will identify all the illegal immigrants and infiltrators living in every inch of this country and deport them as per the international law.”
The Home Minister’s stand on illegal immigrants and infiltrators comes a day after the Home Ministry said in Lok Sabha that the Central government has increased its surveillance of the international borders using various methods like border fencing, flood lighting, construction of border roads, and establishment of border outpost.
In a written reply to BJP MP Parvesh Singh the Home Ministry (MHA) says, “Vulnerable border outposts are regularly reviewed and strengthened by deploying additional manpower, special surveillance equipments and other force multipliers. A technological solution in the form of Comprehensive Integrated Border Management System (CIBMS) has been implemented in some vulnerable border areas.”
The MHA added that the detection and deportation of illegal migrants is a continuous process and the Central government has issued advisories to state governments and Union territories to identify and monitor illegal migrants.
The Home Ministry also outlined the different laws in India to deal with illegal migrants under the law of the land. The BJP government has come under severe criticism for its stand against illegal migrants into the country. However, BJP has always maintained that such illegal migrants pose a threat to national security.
