New Delhi: Today, Bharat remembers the tragic events of the Pulwama terror attack, which occurred five years ago, shaking the nation to its core.
On February 14, 2019, the nation was rocked by a event when a Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) terrorist drove an explosive-laden vehicle into a Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) convoy in Lethpora, Pulwama, Jammu and Kashmir.
The attack claimed the lives of 40 brave soldiers, including Vasanthakumar, a native of Lakkidi in Wayanad district. The attack, claimed by Jaish-e-Mohammed, was executed by the suicide bomber, Adil Ahmad Dar, from Kakapora, Pulwama.
Despite condemnation from nations like the United States and Russia, some countries, including China and Turkey, supported Pakistan in the UN Security Council regarding the attack. China obstructed efforts to designate Jaish-e-Mohammed Chief Masood Azhar as a global terrorist. On May 1, 2019, the United Nations listed Azhar as a global terrorist.
