Jaipur: Former Congress president Sonia Gandhi has revealed property in Italy worth Rs 27 lakh as family assets in her nomination papers submitted to the Rajya Sabha. Sonia also mentioned ownership of three farmlands in Bharat and a bank account with a balance of only Rs 90,000.
Further details in the nomination papers indicate Sonia’s possession of 88kg of silver and 1.2kg of gold, contributing to a total asset valuation of Rs 12.53 crore. This figure marks an increase from the Rs 11.82 crore in assets disclosed in her 2019 nomination papers when she contested from Raebareli.
Her sources of income, as stated in the papers, include her MP salary, royalty amount, and profits from property. Notably, Sonia Gandhi does not own a personal car and is not active on any social media platform.
Sonia Gandhi, currently a Lok Sabha member from Raebareli, has filed her nomination papers to contest for the Rajya Sabha seat from Rajasthan. The Congress party aims to secure one of the three vacant seats in the state, with Sonia Gandhi as their candidate.
This move marks a transition for Sonia Gandhi, who currently serves as a Lok Sabha member from Raebareli. Having won this constituency four times consecutively, she now seeks a position in the Rajya Sabha, shifting her political focus from Uttar Pradesh to Rajasthan.
