New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced a significant reduction in the price of cooking gas cylinders for domestic use, marking it as a special gift for International Women’s Day. The Prime Minister revealed that the cost of LPG cylinders will be slashed by Rs 100, a move aimed at bringing relief to millions of households across the nation, with particular emphasis on benefiting women.
In a related announcement yesterday, the Central government confirmed that the subsidy of Rs 300 per LPG cylinder will persist into the next fiscal year, commencing from April 1, for beneficiaries under the Ujjwala Yojana. This extension of the subsidy for the scheme comes as the current subsidy is set to expire on March 20.
