Expressing their appreciation, the crew members applauded the Indian Navy for its unwavering support in safeguarding their voyages, expressing their sentiments with chants of “Bharat Mata ki Jai.”
In recent developments, the Indian Navy swiftly responded to a maritime incident on Wednesday, as reported in a statement released on Thursday. The naval warship INS Kolkata rescued all crew members of the Barbados-flagged bulk carrier MV True Confidence, which was hit by a drone or missile southwest of Aden. The timely intervention of Indian Navy ensured the safe evacuation of 21 crew members, including an Indian national, with critical medical aid provided onboard.
Earlier the same day, INS Kolkata also assisted the Liberian-flagged container vessel, MSC Sky II, in distress southeast of Aden, escorting it to the territorial waters of Djibouti.
Highlighting the Indian Navy’s commitment to maritime security, the statement underscored a previous rescue operation where medical aid and hull reinforcement were provided to a fishing vessel in the North Arabian Sea.
