Jammu & Kashmir: Indian security forces scored another victory against the dreaded terror outfit, Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM), by eliminating a top commander and his associate after a night long gun battle.
The senior JeM leader, Munna Lahori, is a citizen of Pakistan and was known for making improvised explosive devices and for recruiting locals into the terror network. He was also accused in many terror attacks against innocent civilians.
In a gun battle at Shopian district, today, Munna Lahori and his associate were shot down by Indian security forces. The battle which began last night only concluded today morning after the duo were neutralized.
Lahori was behind the partial car blast attack on 30 March in Banilal and a car bomb explosion n Pulwama’s Arihal on 17 June, which injured two civilians.
Indian security forces are going tough against terror networks operating in the valley. After the Pulwama attack which killed 40 CRPF soldiers, most of the JeM leadership has been decimated.
India was even able to designate the JeM chief Masood Azhar as global terrorist by the UN Security Council. Indian strategy of international diplomacy coupled with strong arm tactics on the ground have led to unprecedented victories for India when it comes to the menace of terrorism.
