Mumbai: Six hardcore Naxals which includes four women surrendered today to the police. The communist terrorists were hardcore criminals that the government had put a reward of Rs. 32. 50 lakh on their heads.

Divisional Committee member of the Naxals Sanju Sunny Madavi, Platoon 1 member Munna Bhikari Kunjami, Company 4 member Mukti Masa Kallo, Bhamragarh party member Raje Manglu Hedo Shanti Danu Hoyami and Mina Dhurva, were the Naxal members who surrendered to the police.

Superintendent of Police of Gadchiroli, Shailesh Balkawade said that the surrender is a big achievement for the security forces.

The NDA government at the Center has been actively countering the menace of Naxalism for the last five years. With many areas of the country under the control of these communist terrorists, it is hard for the government to deliver development to those regions. The Naxals have been for years asking the local population to desist from taking part in the democratic process.

Their main objective is to wage war against the Indian state and bring about a communist revolution through violent means. Thousands have died over the years, mostly innocent villagers caught in the middle of the war.
