The Prime Minister also touched upon the issue of Kashmir and stressed that the people of Kashmir believe that development is more powerful than violence and they desire nothing more than good governance.
He also explained about the ‘Back to village’ program initiated by the government which made senior government officials travel to villages of Kashmir to understand and resolve the problems and issue blocking development to those areas. The program garnered huge support and officials were ready to spend two days to learn about the situation on the ground.
About 4,500 officers travelled to the villages and the feedback and information they brought back is useful to understand the needs and problems of the villages. This will help the government to deliver services more effectively.
The officials travelled to remote areas and even to border villages always at risk of cross border fighting.
