New Delhi: The Chief Minister finds himself in trouble due to the much-hyped government outreach program, Nava Kerala Sadas. The Center has asked an explanation regarding financial irregularities related to the Nava Kerala Sadas. This action comes in response to complaints alleging the diversion of central funds. The Union Finance Ministry has asked the Chief Secretary of the state to provide an explanation.
Nava Kerala Sadas was organized in 140 constituencies under the leadership of the Chief Minister and Ministers. It was purported to provide a platform for the CM and Ministers to address the grievances of the people and offer immediate solutions. However, instead of resolving issues, Kerala witnessed numerous instances of atrocities and violence.
At a time when the state was grappling with a severe financial crisis, the government reportedly spent Rs 25 crore from the exchequer solely on the Nava Kerala Sadas campaign. The expenditure of Rs 1.5 crore on buses and other facilities sparked much discussion. It is against this backdrop that the Center has sought an explanation from the state Government.
