Thiruvananthapuram: Attingal NDA candidate and Union Minister V Muraleedharan accused the CPI(M), the ruling party of Kerala, of protecting the drug mafia in Kerala. Muraleedharan stated that despite a public attack on an RSS member in Kattakada, Thiruvananthapuram, the state police have been inactive in taking action against the assailants.

V Muraleedharan emphasized that the Pinarayi government should change the approach, as it currently leaves people’s lives at the mercy of the drug mafias. Muraleedharan pointed out that in Kerala, the drug mafias are arrogantly involved in violence without any fear of the police, leading to significant challenges for citizens.

Muraleedharan also accused the CPI(M) of attempting to protect the accused, including SFI leaders, in the death case of Siddharth, a Veterinary student of Pookode Veterinary University, Wayanad. He stressed that the police should be allowed to investigate independently.

Muraleedharan made these statements to the media after visiting Vishnu, an RSS member who was assaulted and injured in Keezharoor, Kattakada, Thiruvananthapuram on Tuesday night. Vishnu is currently undergoing treatment at Neyyar Medicity, Kattakada.

According to reports, Vishnu (25) a RSS member was attacked by a group of five people when he was returning home after attending a temple festival. The incident happened around 11 pm Tuesday night.
