Thiruvananthapuram: Attingal NDA candidate and Union Minister V Muraleedharan has assured that the Central government will safely bring back to the country those who are stranded in the war-torn areas of Russia, originating from Anchuthengu, Thiruvananthapuram. He made these remarks while speaking to the media after visiting the families of the youth who are stranded in Russia.

Minister V Muraleedharan mentioned that the Central government is taking action regarding the incident involving young people who went abroad in search of employment opportunities but got trapped there. Efforts are being made by the Central government to repatriate them.

Muraleedharan further stated that the Central government has strongly urged Russia to take actions to facilitate the return of those who are interested in coming back to Bharath. The Indian Embassy in Russia is actively working on this matter. Muraleedharan also mentioned that the Indian Ambassador to Russia is sharing information regarding this situation over the telephone every day.

V Muraleedharan also informed that action has been taken against the fake recruiting agencies that misled the youth. The CBI has also intervened in the investigation. Minister expressed hope that all the stranded youth will be able to return to the country as soon as possible.

Prince (24), Tinu (24), and Vineeth (25), natives of Anchuthengu, are stranded in Russia after being sent there by a travel agent from Thumba, Thiruvananthapuram, with false promises of good employment opportunities. One of these men was reportedly shot and injured.

In connection with human trafficking to Russia, the CBI has raided and shut down travel agency offices in Thakaraparambu and Kazhakoottam of Thiruvananthapuram.
