Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala State Transport Employees Sangh (KSTES) submitted a request to Thiruvananthapuram NDA candidate Rajeev Chandrasekhar, asking for the Central government to urgently intervene in the problems KSRTC is facing.
The Employees Sangh requested urgent attention from the Central government for implementing transformations through Central government schemes in such a way that KSRTC can be beneficial for public service and create more employment opportunities. The common people in Kerala depend on KSRTC every day for their travel. However, the Kerala government is adopting policies that threaten KSRTC’s existence itself, says KSTES
The Kerala government is not considering KSRTC employees’ request to provide new vehicles in place of old, unfit buses. The Employees Sangh also accused the Kerala government of not filling vacancies in KSRTC.
The letter given by the employees also mentioned that due to the lack of employees and a sufficient number of vehicles in KSRTC, the KSRTC is now unable to conduct service on nationalized routes too.
Employees handed over the letter to Rajeev Chandrasekhar while he visited Thampanoor Bus stand at Thiruvananthapuram as part of his election campaign. Responding to the letter, Rajeev Chandrasekhar said that the problems of KSRTC employees has been brought under his notice, and he would find a solution to the problems of the KSRTC employees if he became an MP.
