Malappuram: Malappuram’s BJP candidate and former Vice-Chancellor of Calicut University, Dr. M Abdul Salam, asserted that educated Muslim individuals are aware of the country’s achievements propelled by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He made this statement while addressing the national media.

Abdul Salam stated that Muslim youth will recognize the fake news surrounding issues such as the Gyanvapi Mosque and the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) creating by opposition parties. Abdul Salam added that the Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) Kerala president, Sadiq Ali Shihab Thangal, had even expressed that there is no need to protest against the Ram Temple in Ayodhya. Instead, that the Muslim community should focus on future developments, Abdul Salam emphasized.

Abdul Salam remarked that misconceptions among Muslims about PM Narendra Modi are diminishing. He questioned whether the Modi government has harmed any Muslims during their tenure. Furthermore, he queried why the Muslim community should fear Modi. He mentioned knowing many Muslim women who support Modi for abolishing triple talaq, stating that they realized Modi has done good for Muslim women in society.

Abdul Salam criticized the CPI(M) and Congress for misleading the Muslim community by spreading fake information on secularism. He argued that the Modi government’s concept of secularism is inclusive of all people. Abdul Salam also questioned how long Muslims can stay away from the BJP.

Abdul Salam stated that Modi and the BJP government are set to remain in the country not just for the next five years but indefinitely. Abdul Salam added that if Muslim candidates stay away from Modi government, they will lose out on developments. He mentioned that there is no extreme Hindutva sentiment among Hindus in Kerala, who represent 55% of the state’s population. Abdul Salam added that if they had stayed together and Hindutva sentiments had risen, the situation in Kerala would have been very different. Now, many Hindus feel persecuted and neglected in Kerala, Abdul Salam added.
