Thiruvananthapuram: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning of rising temperature across Kerala, prompting a yellow alert in 11 districts today. Thrissur district has registered the highest temperature hike in the state, reaching up to 40 degrees Celsius. The IMD further cautioned that the temperature hike is expected to persist until Saturday.
The current temperature in Kollam and Palakkad districts is 39 degrees Celsius. Pathanamthitta district is currently experiencing a temperature of 38 degrees Celsius, while in Kottayam, Ernakulam, and Kannur districts, the temperature stands at 37 degrees Celsius. The Disaster Management Authority has issued a warning to remain vigilant as the soaring temperature increases the risk of tropical diseases.
