Kochi: Veteran actor turned director Mohanlal has officially become a member of the Film Employees Federation of Kerala (FEFKA) Directors’ Union. The renowned actor, known for his versatile roles on screen, was bestowed with the membership during ‘Chalachithra Thozhillali Sangam’ (Film Workers’ Conference 2024), held at Rajiv Gandhi Indoor Stadium in Kochi on Wednesday. Director Sibi Malayil, a prominent figure in the industry, did the honour of presenting Mohanlal with the membership.
Actor Mohanlal’s debut directorial film is ‘Barroz,’ and its post-production work is in progress. Mohanlal has not only directed the film but also takes the lead role in the film.
In light of this celebration, a holiday was declared on Wednesday for the shooting of Malayalam movies, serials, web series, and associated activities. Additionally, the inauguration of a health and safety scheme tailored for FEFKA members took place the other day. The scheme is slated to come into effect on April 1, offering comprehensive medical assistance of up to Rs 3 lakh per annum.
Mohanlal is the president of the Association of Malayalam Film Artists (AMMA). Expressing his gratitude and pride, Mohanlal took to social media to share his sentiments.
