Thiruvananthapuram: The Thiruvananthapuram Cantonment Police have registered a non-bailable case against Satyabhama junior for her derogatory remarks against dancer RLV Ramakrishnan. The case is under the provisions of the Scheduled Castes-Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act.
Ramakrishnan filed a complaint with the Chalakudy DySP last week, which was forwarded to the Thiruvananthapuram police for further action. The complaint also demanded action against the YouTube channel that conducted the interview.
The incident of insulting the renowned artist and dancer RLV Ramakrishnan came to light on March 21. In an interview with a YouTube channel, Satyabhama junior stated that those who perform Mohiniyattam should embody the qualities of a Mohini, possessing enchanting or attractive traits. She commented that Ramakrishnan’s color was that of a crow. The incident led to massive protests in the arts and culture sector, with many people coming in support of RLV Ramakrishnan. Meanwhile, Satyabhama Junior has come forward saying that she is facing a brutal cyber attack on social media.
