Thiruvananthapuram: Former MLA T. Saratchandra Prasad has resigned from the Congress party. Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) executive member Saratchandra Prasad handed over his resignation letter to Ramesh Chennithala. The resignation is from the primary membership of Congress.
Saratchandra Prasad stated that he is resigning due to continuous neglect by the party. But the Congress leadership has explained that his resignation will not be accepted and that the problem will be resolved.
Many leaders are leaving the party in protest against the neglect and wrong policies of the Congress. With the Lok Sabha elections around the corner, the leadership is deeply concerned about the exodus of leaders from the party.
Today, AICC member Thankamony Divakaran also had left the party and joined the BJP. She was a former member of the state committee of the Mahila Congress and also served as the General Secretary of the Mahila Congress.
