Kozhikode: MT Ramesh, the NDA candidate in the Kozhikode Lok Sabha Constituency, officially filed his nomination at the Collectorate, accompanied by a supportive demonstration of workers. The election deposit amount for his candidacy was contributed by the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (NREGA) workers of Palazhi.
Speaking to the media after filing his nomination, MT Ramesh accused the LDF and UDF of aligning with religious and communal organizations such as Popular Front and Jamaat-e-Islami in Kerala. He claimed that the SDPI announced its support to the UDF under the condition that the ban on the Popular Front would be lifted if UDF gained power. He criticized this “unholy” agreement, asserting that it was made with the knowledge of senior Congress leaders, including Rahul Gandhi.
MT Ramesh likened these actions to similar instances in Karnataka, where Congress allegedly secured votes from the Popular Front. He warned that similar tactics were being employed in Kerala.
