Wayanad: In a disclosure made alongside his nomination, Rahul Gandhi, contesting from Wayanad in the Lok Sabha elections, unveiled assets totaling Rs 9.24 crores. His financial affidavit further unveils an income of Rs 1.02 crores in the last financial year.
The assets comprise cash, checks, equities, mutual funds, savings accounts, sovereign gold bonds, and more. Other sources of income listed include rent, MP salary, royalty income, interest from banks, bonds, dividends, and capital gains from investments. However, the affidavit also mentions a liability of Rs 49,79,184.
As of March 15, Rahul Gandhi holds Rs 55,000 in cash and Rs 26 lakh in his savings account. Additionally, he has investments of Rs 4.33 crores in various stock markets and Rs 3.81 crores in mutual funds. Notably, assets worth Rs 11.15 crores, encompassing commercial buildings and non-agricultural land, were also mentioned.
This marks Rahul Gandhi’s second time contesting from Wayanad in the Lok Sabha elections. However, his infrequent visits and perceived neglect of constituency development have fueled public discontent against him.
