Wayanad: During an interview with Chief Editor Pradeep Pillai on JanamTV’s ‘The Big Interview,’ Union Minister Smriti Irani criticized Rahul Gandhi for allegedly neglecting his own constituency, Wayanad. She pointed out that Wayanad, despite being included in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Aspirational District Programme, seemed to lack progress. Smriti Irani criticized the Congress party, accusing them of engaging in politics of indulgence.

Smriti Irani stated that the Member of Parliament had never met her as part of Wayanad’s development work. She mentioned that Rahul Gandhi had not even mentioned Wayanad during the question and answer session of Parliament. Smriti Irani pointed out that minority issues had yet to be discussed. She emphasized that MPs are not elected by the people to do the postman’s job. She added that she used to go to the respective ministries for the affairs of Amethi.

The Union Minister mocked that Wayanad had never been Rahul Gandhi’s top priority. She claimed that he had come there reluctantly in 2019 under the compulsion of the leadership. She added that today he says Wayanad is his family, which was not the case earlier.

Smriti Irani asserted that Rahul Gandhi is politically immature, suggesting that he believes he can accept support from the Popular Front without anyone knowing. She questioned how someone who has sworn to uphold the Constitution of Bharat could collaborate with the Popular Front. Additionally, she expressed confidence that defeating the Nehru family in elections is is not an impossible task.
