Kalpetta: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has officially taken up the case of Siddharth’s death. The CBI will reach Wayanad today to conduct an investigation. The decision to take over the investigation came after the notification issued by the Center. Siddharth was a student at the Kerala Veterinary and Animal Sciences University Pookode, Wayanad. Siddharth was found dead in his college hostel bathroom. He was allegedly assaulted by his seniors including SFI activists. Before the CBI took over the case, a team from Delhi had reached Kalpetta and collected information.
Yesterday, the Kerala High Court criticised the state government’s stance of delaying the investigation of the case. The court asked why there was a delay in handing over the documents for the CBI investigation and who was responsible for the delay in the investigation. The court reminded that the delay in the investigation will result in the failure of justice. The case was heard by the single bench of Justice Bechu Kurian Thomas.
