Kolkata: A team from the National Investigation Agency (NIA) was attacked in West Bengal today. The attack took place this morning when NIA officials arrived at the house of a Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader in Bhupatinagar, East Midnapore district, West Bengal, in connection with an investigation into a blast that occurred in 2022.
Stones and bricks were pelted at the NIA investigation team’s car, damaging the windscreen. As per the reports, one of the officials was injured in the attack, which took place around 5:30 am in Bhupatinagar.
The NIA was investigating an explosion that occurred on December 3, 2022, at a house with a thatched roof in Bhupatinagar, resulting in the deaths of three individuals.
Last month, the NIA had interrogated three TMC leaders in connection with this case.
Today’s attack occurred while the NIA officials were conducting their ongoing investigation.
However, the TMC did not respond on the attack on NIA. Their only response was that the BJP is behind the NIA’s actions.
