Pathanamthitta: BJP members have lodged a complaint against CPI(M) members for destroying the posters of Pathanamthitta BJP candidate Anil K Antony. They stated that such activities are being carried out by the CPI(M) out of fear of losing in the Lok Sabha election. The incident reportedly occurred in Malayalappuzha.
Despite the BJP leadership filing a formal complaint with the police regarding the incident, authorities refused to register the case. BJP leadership also added that instead of registering the case, the police directed them to engage in discussions with the CPI(M) Local Secretary to resolve the matter.
The BJP leadership also stated that such incidents of destroying posters are frequently carried out by the CPI(M). It is reported that two weeks ago, the posters of Thrissur BJP candidate Suresh Gopi were also destroyed by CPI(M) activists.
Anil K Antony serves as BJP’s National Secretary.
Former Kerala state Minister TM Thomas Isaac is representing the LDF, while the incumbent MP Anto Antony represents the Congress in the Pathanamthitta constituency. Pathanamthitta is now poised for a strong triangular contest.
