Thiruvananthapuram: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has urged those in peril to move into camp. He also urged the people including those prone to landslides to move away from their respective houses and stay in the relief camps. CM has also asked people to cooperate and act accordingly with the crisis.
The Chief Minister was speaking to the media after the state disaster management authority had arrived at the headquarters and assessed the situation.
Most parts of the state is receiving heavy to very heavy rainfall. Huge landslides have happened in Meppady. All sort of rescue operations is underway. All arrangements are in place to deal with the disaster. CM has requested everyone to not panic.
The news from Meppady is getting serious .The helicopter has been equipped for night travel. The helicopters are expected to go to the disaster zone once the rain stops.
Idukki is receiving heavy rainfall. Places like Malappuram and Nilambur are flooded. But at present the government can manage to control the situation, said Pinarayi Vijayan.
