Thiruvananthapuram: The weather forecast department has issued a red alert in eight districts of the state following heavy rainfall. The red alert has been issued in Kasargod, Kannur, Wayanad, Kozhikode, Malappuram, Idukki, Ernakulam and Palakkad districts.
An orange alert has been announced in six districts including Thrissur,Kottayam, Alappuzha, Pathanamthitta, Kollam and Thiruvananthapuram.
The districts issued with the red alert today, will have an orange alert tomorrow. The weather forecast department gave the alert on Saturday at 9 am.
