Thiruvananthapuram: As the low pressure has intensified in the Bay of Bengal, the weather department has predicted the possibility of heavy to very heavy rain in various parts of the state. Red alert has been issued in three districts, in Ernakulam, Idukki and Alappuzha, and Orange alert, in eleven districts.
The Meteorological Department of India has also warned that southern districts of the state will receive heavy to very heavy rains in the coming hours.
Water level in Kuttanad and Upper Kuttanad regions is increasing and the people residing in these areas are now facing the consequences of days long flood.
Southern Railway authorities informed that the department will take three more days for clearing the services as scheduled earlier. A control room has already set up in Trivandrum division.
