Pathanamthitta: Sabarimala temple will be opened today for thousands of devotees and this time, it becomes crucial as the season comes after Supreme court judgement that grants entry of women of all age. And as the State Government has not yet taken any steps to protect the belief of devotees, tens of thousands of devotees are forced to protest in streets.
A special meeting is scheduled at Sannidhanam lead by Devaswom Minister. Temple will open at 5 pm today for pooja.
Meanwhile, large number of police is being deployed at Pamba, Erumeli and Nilakkal. Situation is tense at Nilakkal as police supress devotees and block their way.
