Pathanamthitta: In protest of the police terrorism against Sabarimala devotees, Sabarimala Karma samithi called for 12 hour strike in Kerala. BJP and Karmasamithy had instructed that harthal should be peaceful.
All emergency services have been omitted from the strike. Leaders have informed that the strike will not affect Sabarimala pilgrims. Meanwhile, the administration has imposed section 144 in four areas. Section 144 will remain till 12 midnight tomorrow.
Sannidhanam, Pamba, Nilakkal and Ilavungal are the areas where section 144 is imposed. District Collector has informed that protest and march will not be allowed around 30 kilometres of area.
Hundred woman cops have been deployed and more police and commando forces will reach the spot to suppress protesters, DGP Loknath Behra told.
