Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala Director General of Police (DGP), Loknath Behera, has issued an alert to all the districts of the state after the Army warned of a terror attack in Southern states.
The police have been directed to maintain vigil at public places ensuring that terrorists do not succeed in their plans to wreak havoc in the state during Onam celebrations.
The GOC-in-C, Army Southern Command, Lt. General, S. K. Saini, said today that the Indian Army got information that terrorists are planning to carry out some attacks in the Southern part of India. The security agencies have recovered some abandoned boats from Sir Creek and the forces are on high alert.
The Lt. General said, “We’ve inputs that there may be a terrorist attack in southern part of India. Some abandoned boats have been recovered from Sir Creek. We’re taking precautions to ensure that designs of inimical elements & terrorists are stalled.”
