Kochi: The process of demolition of flats in Maradu will begin on October 11, Chief Secretary Tom Jose said. He also said that the companies to demolish the flats will be selected by the 9th.
A meeting was held in Kochi the previous day under the chairmanship of the Chief Secretary. The meeting discussed the agenda of the selection of the companies to handover the demolition process and rehabilitation of the flat.
Those companies with previous experience and technical proficiency will be handed over the tender. The companies will be selected by the 9th of this month. The meeting also agreed to pay compensation to the owners within the time frame prescribed by the Supreme Court. He said the expert panel would decide on who should be compensated.
