Kozhikode: Jolly Joseph, who has been accused of killing six members of her family with cyanide poison, has been sent to police custody by First Class Chief Judicial Magistrate Court till 16 October.
Her two accomplices were also remanded for six days by the court. They are accused of supplying cyanide which was used to kill Jolly’s former husband Roy Thomas in 2011. The police has registered a case against Jolly into the death of Roy Thomas.
However, five other members of the family also died the same manner with poisonous substance found in their bodies during postmortem. The police need to investigate all the murders in order to come to the bottom of this gruesome incident.
A huge crowd had gathered around the court when Jolly and her accomplices were brought there. The police had tough time to control the crowd who booed and tried to get a glimpse of the killer lady who shocked the consciousness of Kerala.
The Kerala Police Chief Loknath Behra has increased the investigating team to 35 and has constituted six teams to probe each of the six deaths. The team also consists of forensic experts.
