Kottayam: The Exam Chairman who unearthed irregularities in granting marks to undeserving students in MG University has been threatened by a leader belonging to the left leaning teachers’ union.
Exam Chairman and BAM College Commerce Head, Dr. Binoy Thomas, has written to the Vice Chancellor of MG University accusing a left teachers’s union leader for threatening him over the phone.
Dr. Binoy Thomas had found irregularities in giving marks to students doing their Masters in commerce in two colleges under the MG University in Pathanamthitta. The students have been given undeserving marks for their fourth semester viva. Students who failed in three semesters have been given high marks in the viva exam. Also, 14 undeserving students out of 22 students have been found to have received A grade.
The Exam Chairman also says in this complaint to the Vice Chancellor that the leader of the left union was not posted for exam duty in the two colleges. However, he used his political influence to gain Vice Chancellor’s order for exam duty in these colleges.
