Thiruvananthapuram: Following heavy downpour in Kerala, the government has announced Orange Alert in ten districts and Yellow Alert in the other four districts.
Orange Alert has been issued in Alappuzha, Ernakulam, Idukki, Thrissur, Palakkad, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur, and Kasaragod districts.
The Cyclone Warning Center under the National Weather Department has released a new bulletin which gives the position of the cyclone. It is around 300 km west of Kozhikode.
The ‘Maha’ cyclone is said to become strong before noon and is expected to become more stronger after 24 hours. Fishermen are advised not to venture out into the sea.
The government has also declared Orange Alert in Wayanadu, Kannur, Kozhikode, and Kasaragod districts tomorrow also.
