Kochi: The High Court of Kerala apologized to the family of Yadulal, who was killed when the bike he was riding fell into a pothole on the road and got ran over by a truck. The High Court also observed that the government machinery is a failure and asked how many more should die before the potholes are filled.
The court said that the incident was very unfortunate and the court apologized to the family of Yadulal on behalf of all. The court also announced Amicus Curie to study the situation of the roads in Kochi, where the incident took place. Three lawyers will constitute the Amicus Curie, which is asked to give a report by 20 December.
Though, the court welcomed the government’s decision to give Rs. 10 lakh to the family of the victim, it also asked how many more will be given Rs. 10 lakh by the government.
Meanwhile, the government has suspended four engineers for failing in their duties to close the potholes on time.
