Thiruvananthapuram: The Cabinet has decided to hand over Rs 1.3 crore to former Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) scientist, Nambi Narayanan, to settle in the infamous spy scandal case filed by him against the State in the Sub-Court in Thiruvananthapuram.
The State on the Supreme Court order had already provided Rs 50 lakh and Rs 10 lakh was given on the recommendation by the National Human Rights Commission to Narayanan.
In September 2018, a three-judge Bench of the Supreme Court had found him a victim of the false allegations of espionage by the Kerala Police. The Government of Kerala was ordered to pay him compensation for loss of his fundamental right to live with dignity and self-respect.
