Thiruvananthapuram: The second annual summit of the Loka Kerala Sabha, a common platform for the cultural, socio-political and economic integration of non-resident Keralites, will begin today. Governor Arif Mohammed Khan will inaugurate at the Nishagandhi Auditorium at 5 pm. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan will preside over the function.
The meeting will be held on Thursdays and Fridays at the Sankaranarayanan Hall of the Assembly. Pinarayi Vijayan will present the policy document at 9 am on Thursday. Members of the parliament from Kerala and Assembly members along with 351 members will participate in the Loka Kerala Sabha.
The Opposition had earlier said it would boycott the Loka Kerala Sabha. The opposition leader Ramesh Chennithala stated that when the state is facing a financial crisis, it is not agreeable to hold a luxurious meeting.
