36 Ayyappa devotees from Czech Republic reach Sabarimala temple

Pathanamthitta: Thirty six citizens of Czech Republic travelled thousands of kilometers and crossed dense forests to reach the abode of Lord Ayyappa at Sabarimala temple to surrender to the lord of kali yuga.

Thomas Piffer led the group of 36 devotees from Czech Republic  including 22 women devotees following the age old traditions of age and celibacy.

The group was guided by a resident of Chidambaram, Pazhani swami. The group reached the temple by 8 am today and prayed at the shrine of Lord Ayyappa. From there they went to the shrine of Mallikapuram and prayed there. The ‘prasadam’ of the deity was given to them by the priest of Mallikapuram, Parameshwaran Namboothiri.

The group had reached Chennai on 26 December and from they travelled to Sabarimala after visiting many temples at Mahabalipuram, Chidambaram, Thanjavur, Thiruvanamalla, Kumbhakonam, Thiruchi, Pallani, Rameshwaram, Madura, Thirunellar, etc.
