Idukki: BJP State Secretary, A. K. Nazeer, was brutally attacked by extremists outfit SDPI, while he was offering namaaz at a Mosque in Idukki district. He is currently undergoing treatment at a nearby hospital.
Nazeer had entered the Juma Masjid to offer prayers after attending the ‘Jana Jagrutha’ rally conducted by BJP Idukki unit as part of its outreach program to educate the public about Citizenship Amendment Act.
The BJP leader was kicked from behind and assaulted with furniture for over 15 minutes until the Imam intervened and rescued him.
SDPI is an extreme Islamic political organization, which is behind many communal attacks both in Kerala and in many parts of India. Its parent organization the Popular Front of India was behind the violence during anti-CAA protests.
