Kochi: Film director Priyadarshan heavily criticised the filmmakers for the problems unleashed in the name of citizenship law. On asking whether artists should comment on political issues, he said that they should first learn about the citizenship law and then respond.
“If you have to convey anything, show it through your films. Don’t blame Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Amit Shah, only to gain popularity among people. It’s sad,” said Priyadarshan.
The director also slammed Bollywood Director Anurag Kashyap and said that people like him should shut their mouth.
“What does he achieve by opposing the Prime Minister? Instead of conveying disagreement over government through films, they are showing it on social media to highlight their name among the masses,” said Priyadarshan.
“Many people think that his films are realistic. But for me, it’s all about sex and violence,” added Priyadarshan.
