Kottarakkara: A minor girl was saved by the police from a religious centre at Ponnani in Malappuram district after a man sexually exploited her and sent her there to be converted to Islam. The police has arrested a twenty five year old man, Sadhiq, for the crime.
The minor girl is a native of Kottarakkara in Kollam district. Sadhiq lured the girl and sexually exploited her and told her that he would marry her if she would convert. The girl having no other way accepted it and he took her to a religious centre at Ponnani in Malappuram district.
The police began an investigation after the girl’s parents filed a missing person complaint at the station. Their investigation brought to light the sexual exploitation and forced conversion bid of the girl.
The police saved the girl from the religious centre and brought her back home.
