Watch and ward tried to wean away the protesting MLAs but was met with stiff opposition which led to a brief scuffle. MLA Anwar Sadat was forced to move out of the well of the house bythe marshals.
Governor Arif Mohammad Khan proceeded under the protection of the marshals. The opposition then staged a walkout before his speech began in protest.
The government and the opposition have been protesting against the Governor for his support of CAA.
Governor, however read the statements by the state government against CAA and said, ” I’m going to read this para (against CAA) because CM wants me to read this, although I hold the view that this doesn’t come under policy or programme. CM has said that this is the view of government, & to honor his wish I’m going to read this para.”
