Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala Governor, Arif Mohammad Khan, is defiant against the protests he has been facing since he strongly supported the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), which was passed by the Indian Parliament. Today he was blocked by the opposition MLAs in the Assembly, while he was going to deliver the policy speech of the government.
Arif Mohammad Khan said that he has seen worse protests against him in Uttar Pradesh Assembly when he was a member of it.
The Governor said, “I have seen worse than this when I was a member of the Uttar Pradesh Assembly.”
Opposition MLAs blocked his path and raised slogans and placards in protest against the Governor. After the watch and ward intervened and removed the protesting MLAs, the Governor reached the podium and delivered his speech.
Security has been tightened for the Governor after protests against him has increased for supporting the Indian government’s act.
