Coronavirus: Kerala declares it as state calamity after 3 confirmed cases were reported from the state

Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala government on the directions of Chief Minister, Pinarayi Vijayan, has declared Coronavirus as a state calamity. The announcement comes after 3 cases of confirmed Coronovirus affected persons hails from Kerala.

India has evacuated around 700 persons of its citizen from Wuhan, which is the epicentre of the deadly virus. Out of these 3 confirmed cases of Coronovirus is from Kerala. They are quarantined and given medical treatment. Their health is said to be stable.

The deadly virus has taken the lives of 361 persons in China’s Hubei province and 17,000 people are said to be affected worldwide. The first reported death from Coronavirus from outside China was in the Philippines.

Many countries are evacuating their citizens from China after the outbreak and travel bans are issued to their citizens from visiting that country.

Meanwhile, UK government donated 20 million pounds to come up with a vaccine within 6 -8 weeks.

In India Group of Ministers (GoM) is formed to review, monitor and evaluate the preparedness to contain the virus was held today. It contains Union Ministers Harsh Vardhan, Hardeep Puri, S. Jaishankar, G. Kishan Reddy, Ashwini Kumar Choubey, and Mansukh Lal Mandaviya.
