Kochi: The founder director of Bharatheeya Vichara Kendram and one of the foremost intellectuals of the RSS, P Parameswar ji, breathed his last today at 12.10 am, at Ottappalam in Palakkad district, while undergoing Ayurveda treatment. He was 93.
He was instrumental in forming an ideological counter against Marxism in Kerala and worked tirelessly for the unity of the Hindu community.
His mortal remains will be kept at Pranth Karyalayam in Ernakulam today till 4 pm for the public to pay their last respects. The cremation will be at 2.30 pm tomorrow at his ancestral home in Muhamma, Alappuzha.
Bharathiya Vichara Kendram was established by Parameswar ji in 1982 “to promote nationalist thoughts among Keralites”.
Parameswar ji, as fondly called, was the senior RSS Pracharak, who had become a full-time organiser in 1950 as per the roads shown by M.S. Golwalkar. In 1982, he emerged with a new organisation and named it as Bharathiya Vicahara Kendra.
From 1951, he started working as RSS pracharak in Kerala. He played a crucial role to unite the Hindus, observe Ramayana month (Karkidakam) and campaign for Bhagavad Gita.
India had conferred him with highest civilian awards, Padma Vibhushan and Padma Shri.
