Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala Police is facing another accusation even as the controversy of the missing guns and ammunition from the Special Armed Police Battalion refuses to die out. Reports say that the fund for the police department has been diverted to buy a car for the Chief Secretary of the state, Tom Jose.
The car used by Tom Jose with the registration number KL 01 9663 Compass Limited Edition is registered under the name of the State Police Chief. The vehicle’s showroom cost is Rs. 19.73 lakh. Once the car is on road the cost would go up to Rs. 20 lakh.
It must be noted that the purchase of this high end car is during a time when the state is under financial strain.
The State Police Chief, Lokanath Behera, came under scathing attack by the CAG the other day. The new accusation comes when the government and the party is trying hard to save their face after the CAG report.
