Thiruvananthapuram: The Vigilance conducted a raid at former minister VS Sivakumar’s residence on Thursday in the case related to illegal possession of assets.
The vigilance had lodged an FIR yesterday with Sivakumar as the first accused in the case. The FIR has been filed in the Thiruvananthapuram Vigilance Court.
Others accused in the case are Sivakumar’s personal staff members namely M Rajendran, Shaiju Haran and NS Harikumar. While he was the minister in the Oomen Chandy cabinet, it is alleged that Sivakumar misused his chair and acquired properties in the name of his relatives and friends.
Though it is not sure of the allegations, it is believed that Sivakumar has been named the first accused due to earning assets in the name of other people.
