Thiruvananthapuram: Minister of State for External Affairs, V. Muraleedharan, said that the Central government will intervene if Kerala government ignores the CAG report. The CAG had found out that arms and ammunition are missing from the police camp. It had also brought out serious lapse and corruption in the police department.
Muraleedharan said that the government should have given a reply in the Assembly rather than making officials give reply to CAG’s report. The Minister also condemned the move of the Home Secretary submitting a report on CAG. He added that the Home Secretary’s report is not legally binding.
He further said that using the media to criticize the CAG will confuse the people. V. Muraleedharan said that just ignoring the CAG report would not result in the issue being sidelined. This only strengthens the accusations against the government.
He also said that if there is an attempt to help former UDF Health Minister, Sivakumar, in a corruption case then it would be exposed.
