Palakkad: The Minister of State for External Affairs, V. Muraleedharan, today, inaugurated 20 houses constructed under the Pradhan Manthri Awaz Yojana (PMAY). He said that the central government’s welfare schemes do not discriminate anybody who is from the minority community. He reminded that 31% of the beneficiaries of PMAY are minorities.
V. Muraleedharan, while inaugurating the 20 houses built at Pattambi Municipality’s 15th division under PMAY, said that previous governments only made promises of welfare schemes that remained on paper.
He said that many welfare schemes are before the people but unfortunately the representatives cannot make it a reality for the people. However, the housewarming ceremony of the 20 houses at Pattambi is an example of how a representative was able to make this welfare scheme a reality and praised the councillor for the work.
V. Muraleedharan also said that many are spreading a false narrative that the central government is against minorities. However, not even a single welfare scheme of the government is discriminatory. He added that the beneficiaries of the schemes know about it. He said that the BJP councillor who took leadership in building the 20 houses under PMAY also did not show any discrimination in providing the scheme.
The Minister said that no one must play politics in development works. He also granted the keys to all the twenty houses.
