Thiruvananthapuram: For the first time in the history, the police department of Kerala have not been paid their salaries. The salary which is bound to come on the last working day, has not been paid to most of the personnel yet. This is a clear sign of financial crisis in the state.
It is also reported that other government departments have also delayed paying the stipend.
Officers from the districts including Thiruvananthapuram could not be given their salary temporarily.
Meanwhile, the government has given an explanation that technical failure has delayed the payment and it will be resolved by afternoon. However, the speculations seems to be that the state is in utter financial crisis.
It is also alleged that the government’s extravagant expenditure has brought the state into a severe financial crisis.
