Kochi: Cochin International Airport has increased the medical tests for Covid-19 for the passengers. The move comes after the spread of virus increased across the world. Currently, the medical tests are for passengers coming from foreign countries.
The medical tests were made stronger after Kuwait banned flight services from seven countries including India.
A team of 22 doctors and 30 paramedical staff headed by the Airport Health Officer is formed to conduct the medical tests and to identify and give medical aid to anyone affected by the virus.
Those passengers who are coming from foreign countries must have to undergo thermal testing before leaving the airport. Immediate medical assistance is arranged for anyone identified with the infection.
The sudden ban imposed by Kuwait on passengers from India has adversely affected many Malayalees working in that gulf country.
